Carleton Prestige Scholarships

International students seeking financial support to study in Canada are welcomed to apply for the Carleton Prestige Scholarships. Carleton University is open to international students from around the world looking to study at the university. International students who are applying for this scholarship must meet the program requirement as well the university admission requirements in other to be considered for this scholarship.

The available scholarships at the university include the Chancellor’s Scholarship, the Richard Lewar Entrance Scholarship, the Carleton University Scholarship of Excellence, the Carleton University SHAD Scholarship, the Riordon Scholarship, and the Collins Prestige Scholarship.

The aim of these scholarships is to provide funds and scholarship options for students who cannot afford it due to various family financial constraints. The University of Carleton is lending a hand by trying to help kindle the light and keep these students’ hopes alive. Students are provided financial support that will allow them to study in any developing country in the world including their respective home countries.

Students are expected to demonstrate financial needs of which they would ordinarily not be to afford their studies in Canada except with this scholarship. The scholarship is also merit-based and students are selected for their academic past performances of which only the best are selected.

Scholarship value/duration:

Chancellor’s Scholarships: $30,000 ($7,500 x 4 years).

Richard Lewar Entrance Scholarships: $21,500 ($6,500 to be issued in the first year and $5,000 to be issued in second, third and fourth year);

Carleton University Scholarships of Excellence: $20,000 ($5,000 x 4 years);

Carleton University SHAD Scholarships: $20,000 ($5,000 x 4 years);

Riordon Scholarship: Full tuition to be issued in the first, second, third, and fourth year, covered at Canadian domestic full tuition fee amount;

Collins Prestige Scholarship: Full tuition to be issued in the first, second, third, and fourth year, covered at Canadian domestic full tuition fee amount;

These Scholarships are renewable; however, students must regularly maintain an annual GPA of 10.0;


The International Master’s Award of Excellence is target at students from any developing country, either male or female candidates:

  • Who have completed a High School degree education, and have obtained an excellent grade academic certificate.
  • Applicants must be within the age limit for this scholarship which is below 30 years.
  • The candidate in question must be applying for a first graduate degree at the university.
  • Applying candidates must have a valid Canadian student permit or visa, and who have obtained an offer for admission to study a full-time master’s program at the university.
  • The scholarship is mostly awarded to undergraduate students who are applying to study at Carleton University.
  • Applicants are expected to achieve an admission average of 90 percent or above. From then, the selection committee will assess your works in community service or your high school extra-curricular activities.

Application instructions:

All applications for this scholarship must be concluded and submitted before or on the deadline. The scholarship occurs annually however, the deadline for applying and submitting your application for all the scholarships is 2021-2022 was 1 March 2022.
