Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship Program Available at University of Toronto

Are you looking to study in Canada but cannot afford to pay for your studies abroad it? this is a great opportunity for you to apply for a scholarship to study at a top university in Canada. International students from different parts of the world are invited to apply for the Lester B. Pearson International Pearson scholarship which is hosted by the University of Toronto. International students who are pursuing an undergraduate course program at the university are eligible to submit their application provided they obtain and accept a letter of admission from the school.

To obtain admission into the university, applicants must first obtain a valid study permit that allows them legally enter Canada for studies and as well meet the university’s admission requirements. This scholarship looks to provide students with the necessary funds that they require to complete their studies here in Canada. Students are expected to show a good level of creativity, leadership qualities, and should have made some impact in the community where they reside.

The financial support provided will cover students’ tuition fees, accommodation, and other academic-related expenses. The scholarship program particularly looking for applicants who have heavily and actively contributed to the advancement of the community where they reside and in the world.

The number of scholarships available each year is open to 37 students who will be named Lester B. Pearson Scholars.

Target group:

Any student from any around the world, including the international students who are already studying at Canadian high schools.

Scholarship value/duration:

Successful applicants for this scholarship will receive funds to cover tuition, books, incidental fees, and full residence support for four years.

Eligibility:

The Lester B. international student’s scholarship places more focus on students from any developing country, either male or female candidates:

  • Applicants are eligible only after completing a Secondary education or High School and have secured a good grade academic certificate.
  • All the applying candidates would need to first obtain a study permit to study in Canada.
  • The candidate should be applying for a first undergraduate degree.
  • The student should first be nominated by his/her secondary school for this award. If the secondary school you applied to has not yet qualified to nominate for this award, it is advised that dey submit their application. You can find more details with the link found below
  • The candidate is required to have a valid Canadian student permit or visa and should have first secured an offer of admission to study a full-time undergraduate program at the university.
  • The award is mostly to recognize undergraduate students with leadership skills and a good level of creativity.
  • Students eligible to apply are also those who are beginning their studies at the university in September 2022.
  • if you are already enrolled in an undergraduate program at the university, you will not be eligible to apply for this scholarship

Documents Required for this Scholarship

  • Clear personal photo
  • 2022 application form
  • Personal essay statement
  • Two recommendation letters
  • A transcript from your secondary school;
  • Ensure that you provide your secondary school grading key. it would help the officials to review or interpret your grades
  • Present your country’s official national exam result and the key to interpreting scores.
  • The applicants should first receive a nomination letter from an eligible high school or secondary school.
  • Proof of language proficiency is also key, so students are to provide a language test result.

Application instructions:

This scholarship is open to all applicants who have concluded and submitted their application before or on the deadline of 30 November 2021. The student has until 15 December 2021 to apply and obtain admission at the university (You can submit as early as 7 November 2021). The scholarship application is due to close on 17 January 2022.

After you have been nominated by your school, you can then proceed for admission at the University of Toronto. Applicants are required to meet the requirements of both the university and the Canadian embassy in other to secure a study permit to become a student in Canada as well as the university. This includes applying and obtaining a valid study permit and a valid admission letter from the University.
